Town of Port Royal – Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Overview:
 The Town of Port Royal complies with the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which promotes transparency by providing the public access to government records and meetings. Requests for public records may be submitted to the Town, and staff will respond in accordance with the timeframes and procedures established by state law, providing access to records that are not exempt from disclosure.

Commercial Solicitation Prohibition:
 Pursuant to State Law at S.C. Code § 30-2-50(A), a person or private entity shall not knowingly obtain or use personal information obtained from the Town of Port Royal, or any other state or local government entity, for commercial solicitation directed to any person in South Carolina. Information released through FOIA is intended for public transparency and oversight and may not be used for marketing, sales, or other commercial solicitation purposes.
