Building Department

The Building Department of the Town of Port Royal ensures a building meets International Building Codes and Town of Port Royal building requirements.   This Department issues Building Permits and Performs Inspections during construction and upon completion.  Once all inspections have been passed a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) will be issued.

Building Permits

Permits are obtained by calling the Permits Administrator at 843-986-2215 or completing the Building Permit Application and submitting the application by:

  • In-person at the Port Royal Town Hall located at 700 Paris Avenue, Port Royal, SC 29935
  • By Mail: Town of Port Royal, Attn: Permit Administrator, PO Drawer 9, Port Royal, SC 29935
  • By Email:  permits@portroyal.org

Inspections can be scheduled by calling the following number,  843-986-2236

Certificate of Occupancy (CO)

To occupy a structure without a CO is a violation and you will be fined.
