The Town of Port Royal Planning Commission is a five-member board of volunteers appointed by the Port Royal Town Council. The Planning Commission has the following powers and duties:
- Adopt and make recommendations on revisions to the Comprehensive Plan.
- Review all zoning map and text amendments for conformity with the Comprehensive Plan.
- Review and make recommendations concerning all annexations.
- Review and make recommendations concerning all requests for zoning within the Town.
- Review and approve, approve subject to conditions, or deny all Preliminary Major Subdivision Plats.
- Delegate Final Subdivision Plat review and approval to Town Staff.
- Review and make recommendations on other matters delegated by the Town Council or such other matters as may appropriately come before the Commission.
